IT’S OFFICIAL!

HALF MARATHON CLUB

Everything has been verified and it's official - I am a 50-state finisher, plus DC!  The Endurance Challenge is a combination of half marathons (13.1 miles) and marathons (26.2).  I've run 20 marathons; however, I claim the marathons run in Illinois, New York, and Texas towards the goal.  I will return to those states and run a half marathon.  Let's go!!

About Sonja Zonetta McLean Williams

Sonja Zonetta McLean Williams, is a native of Jacksonville, NC.  I am currently a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, teaching Water Fitness, Cycling, Synrgy, and Tabata.  


I started my fitness journey in 2008, when our former pastor's husband started a fitness group at the church.  One morning, he challenged another member and me to run with the guys.  We took him up on his challenge and as they say, the rest is history.  I ran my first race in April 2009 and placed 1st in my age group.  I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment, even if I had not received an award.  Since that time, I have run over 130 races, to include 5ks, 8ks, 10ks, half marathons, and marathons.  I've even traveled to Jamaica, and Paris, France to run.  


Prior to retiring as a music educator of 30 years, I became certified to teach cycling and group fitness classes.  It was a way to encourage others and help them on them fitness journey.  Additionally, I am the Health and Wellness coordinator at my church. 


In July 2020, during the pandemic, I launched my online wellness shop.  Opening the wellness shop was an effort to further assist others on their health and wellness journey.
