May 2011 - My FIRST half marathon was run in May 2010 with my youngest son, Stephen. He did not want his mother to beat him, so he finished 1 minute before me. My official time was 2:16:39!
September 2015 - My best friend, Lynn, and I ran the Divas Half Marathon in Peachtree, GA. My time was 2:05! I met some great ladies who I still have contact with today!
January 2017 - I joined the Black Greek Running Nation for the Miami Half Marathon. I also ran the 5k, as a shakeout run. My time was 2:07:52!
Febraury 2017 - My best friend and I traveled to New Orleans to run the Rock and Roll races. We had a great time, as always! My time was 2:07:11!
April 2017 - I called this NashHILL because of all the hills! I don't have hills on the coast to train; therefore, it was a struggle! I finished and will NOT run this race EVER again!
November 2017 - My best friend and I were at it again! She ran the 8k and I the Richmond Half Marathon! I was extremely cold that morning! It felt like I had bricks on my feet, but I finished! My time was 2:06:03!
January 2018 - It was a birthday celebration race in Charleston! Oh, what fun we had ON and OFF the pavement!
April 2018 - The inaugural National Women's Half Marathon took place in Washington, DC. My time was 2:09:56.
March 2019 - The National Black Marathoners Association (NBMA) had its Summit in Little Rock, Arkansas. I ran the 5k and received extra medals for the challenge and the Summit.
February 2023 - I joined NBMA for their Summit in Jackson for the Missisippi Blues! There were hills and no shade, so that race won't see me again! The medal was the same size as the shorter distances, too!
March 2023 - I ran Race to the Cave, which started at Cathedral Caverns State Park. I ran this race the day after completing 51 miles at the Selma to Montogomery Bike Ride. The views on the route were beautiful and the last part of the race was in the cavern! It was an amazing adventure!
August 2023 - The Bluegrass Reaper was a different experience. You had a specific time to return to the starting line before you started each lap. Some people didn't make the cutoff and had to leave the race. Basically, you had to BEAT THE REAPER!
August 2023 - Parkersburg News and Sentinel was a small town race, but they had a lot of hospitality. There was even a festival along the waterfront. There is a lot of history in that small town! There were also some hills to climb!
