October 2018 - I went to Baltimore for its Running Festival. The race was a part of the NBMA Summit! I also ran the 5k as a shakeout run the day before.
September 2019 - My best friend, Lynn, and I celebrated her birthday weekend with a half marathon in Philadelphia, PA! As always, we had lots of fun!
November 2019 - My 2nd World Major Marathon and the one I liked the least! The logistics were terrible and I didn't start running until 11:00 a.m. All the food and drinks I had prepared were gone by the time the race started. The only good thing about it was I got to do it with some wonderful people. We stayed in an Airbnb for the majority of our stay; however, we spent one night at the Harlem YMCA.
May 2023 - I completed the Red Island State Half marathon as a part of the New England Challenge, in Warwick, RI. We did 4 full laps + 2.3 miles out and back. It was not as bad as I thought it would be!
May 2023 - This race was Part 1 of the New England Series. We ran in a park with lots of trees. I actually found out, upon my return, that I’m allergic to certain things in nature; however, I finished. That was the start of taking allergy shots!🤷🏽♀️
May 2023 - The Nutmeg State Half was the final race in the New England Challenge. We ran 6 full laps + .3 miles out and back. As a treat, I got a chance to go to the baseball game to see the Hartford Yard Goats play.
October 2023 - Running along the Boardwalk was a highlight of the Atlantic City Half Marathon. Another highlight was staying in a timeshare right on the Boardwalk!
October 2023 - Lewes, Delaware
The race took place in Cape Henlopen State Park among the trees. I was pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face, Melinda. It was a beautiful out & back "T" course through Cape Henlopen State Park...Lewes Main Beach-to Lewes-To Rehoboth-to Lewes Main Beach. OcI traveled to run the Seawitch Half. It was a small race, but I did see a familiar face. I ran the 5k, which was the day after the half marathon.
June 2024 - Vermont was actually the 4th race (my 1st race) of the New England Series, sponsored by Mainly Marathons. I got to the start late, because I had the wrong time in my mind. I tried to make up for lost time, but had to take a pause for a bathroom break. The clock doesn't stop for that; however, my time was not accurate! Oh well!! We also had to do 6 laps out and back!
June 2024 - New Hampshire was my 2nd race of the New England Series. The race was at Monadnock Park. The course was a mix of asphalt and crushed gravel on the Bobby Woodman Trail, with moderate shade. We got sprinkled on during the race, which was welcomed. We had to be 8 laps out and back!
June 2024 - Maine was my 3 race of the New England Series. The race was the Sanford Springvale YMCA, which was nice after the race becasue I could go and get cleaned up before heading to the airport. The course was asphalt on the Mousam Way Trail with lots of shade. There were some moderate inclines along the way. I kept plugging along after doing 7 laps.
